Lindfield Vs Northbridge Match Recap

A local rivalry was renewed last weekend between common foes Northbridge and Lindfield.
The ‘Theatre of Beans’ was the location, and in front of a healthy contingent of Lindfield locals, the navy blue side made for tough going in the first half. A very well structured unit meant the bridge found attacking opportunities few and far between in the first half.
However, as the game progressed and the Lindfield began to tire, midfield Maestro Ben Codling began to take hold of the game. The Man of the Match bossed the 2nd half and set the tempo for the Northbridge attacking play, allowing the red and white to pile on 4 goals in the 2nd half thanks to a brace from AP, and a goal each for Matt Lee and Will Minehan. 4 – 0 the final score in an important scalp for the ladder leaders.
It was a different story in the Reserve Grade. the Bridge ressies came out sluggish and conceded an early sloppy goal. A brutal dislocated knee injury to new midfield recruit Will Gyles didn’t help and a frustrated bridge struggled to create chances. As they pressed hard for an equaliser in the 2nd half, a ball was clipped over the top of the defence and tucked away to close out the game – 2 nil to Lindfield.
Top of the table in each Grade – things are looking promising!
