Recycle weekend

Recycle weekend

Great Recycling Weekend despite the weather, families were out supporting the Recycle Weekend, donating over 20 Jumbo size bags of sports gear, boots, shorts, shorts, jackets and socks for recycling reducing the impact of fashion-fill in our area. Australia has the second largest fashion-fill per capita, second to the USA, so it is pleasing to see so many youths and families supporting one of the programs in the Sustainable Sports Program which we ran the pilot program for in 2019. Now two years on the program has expanded to the NSFA and in 2023, will be launched across Football NSW. SBS TV dropped by to meet some of the youth Ambassadors, Sophia, April, Lily, John and Jasper. Thanks to the Coal Loader for donating the tree saplings, and for the NBFC for supporting this important community project.
It was also pleasing to receive some photos from Broken Hill where the Impact Sports team led by ex-Socceroos player Gerry Gomez kitted out a youth team with our gear, Mariners, NBFC, as well as Lindfield playing shorts, shirts and boots donated by the community.

Plus two boxes of boots were delivered to the indigenous youth program near Mildura. Great work all.
